Weekly Announcements - Week of 11.3.2025
Panther Band & Guard Family,
First off, CONGRATULATIONS on your advancement to the 5A State Marching Band Championships! Saturday was a LONG day with plenty of curveballs thrown at you, yet you handled everything with professionalism and a great attitude. Thank you so much for your flexibility and positivity.
Tomorrow, Monday, November 3, will mostly be a rest/recovery/homework day. We do need to look at the Star-Spangled Banner in preparation for our upcoming playoff game (next week), but as soon as we are done with that, students will have the opportunity to rest or do homework, whichever they prefer.
This week we are following our normal schedule, with one caveat - on Tuesday we will have a shortened rehearsal so we have time to get into uniform to perform in between the middle school football games. Our Director of Athletics, Justin Carrigan, asked if this is something we would be interested in, and any performance opportunity, especially as we lead up to the Bands of America Super Regional and the UIL State Marching Contest are well worth it. As soon as we are done with our performance, we will check in uniforms, put our equipment away, and dismiss.
UIL has posted the performance schedule for State Marching Contest and our performance is at 12:00 PM. We are finalizing the itinerary as quickly as we can and anticipate having it out tomorrow so everyone can plan for doors open, departure, etc.
Finally, parents, if anyone has any shop lights, either battery-powered or corded, that you would be comfortable letting us use on Monday and Thursday, we would DEEPLY appreciate it. With the time change, we will not make it to the end of rehearsal with enough light to see and we are trying to maximize every last minute we have this week before marching season comes to a close.
