Ensembles

Marching Band

The Liberty Hill Panther Band is one of the largest student organization on campus with 160 students involved. The Marching Band consists of students from all concert bands, as well as the color guard. Marching Band begins with a mini-camp in May, followed by summer band during late July and August, which all participants are required to attend.

Once school starts, the Marching Band rehearses five times a week and performs during the halftime of all football games. The Marching Band competes in 4-6 competitions on Saturdays during the fall in the University Interscholastic League (UIL), USBands, and Bands of America (BOA) circuits.

Wind Ensemble

Conductor: Joshua Muñoz

The Wind Ensemble features the finest musicians in the Liberty Hill HS band program. The Wind Ensemble meets before school five days a week during the concert season.

Members of the Wind Ensemble are selected by auditions that occur in November and based on their attendance at All-State Masterclasses.

The Wind Ensemble performs the finest wind literature and continues the development of refined, professional skills. The Wind Ensemble will perform many concerts throughout the school year and during the month of April is a participant in the TMEA UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest.

Wind Symphony

Conductor: Ashlynne Turner

The Wind Symphony is one of two concert bands in the Liberty Hill HS band program. The Wind Symphony meets before school five days a week during the concert season. The Wind Symphony focuses on refining instrument playing skills and performing quality music literature of a higher difficulty level.

The Wind Symphony will perform many concerts throughout the school year and during the month of April is a participant in the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest. Members of this ensemble are highly encouraged to study privately with our adjunct faculty.

Percussion Ensemble

Conductor: Justin Zimerman

The Percussion Ensemble is a percussion-specific ensemble that focuses on literature specifically written for the percussion student. This literature specifically challenges the percussion students to grow at their craft much in the same way concert music challenges brass and woodwind musicians. The Percussion Ensemble focuses on developing and refining instrument playing skills and performing quality music literature. Members of this ensemble are highly encouraged to study privately with our adjunct faculty.

The Percussion Ensemble will perform at our annual Night of Percussion concert and also at any invited conferences.
