Ways to Volunteer

We truly have an opportunity for every talent, passion, or skill level. Here is a list of some of the volunteer opportunities - please contact the Band Boosters President at president@lhpantherband.org if you want to know more!

For our program to be successful, we ask for each family to volunteer 20 hours minimum. Many hands make light work! Find the opportunity that best fits your interests and talents and use the SignUpGenius links below. We all thank you for your time. Any volunteers working directly with kids will also need to fill out the volunteer application on the LHISD website.

  • Parent chaperones are needed for all football games (home and away) and any marching contest or UIL events that the band attends. Duties are very simple: we check students on and off the buses, help carry equipment and such from the buses to the field, and are generally available to help with other tasks as needed.

You will stay with the band in the bleachers during the entire event. If it is a full-day marching contest, you also stay with the band when they go to eat, etc. Chaperoning is a great way to get to know some of our wonderful band students and you really feel a part of the event and our band.

  • We are the team of volunteers that help the band every game and competition. We help with building props, load/unload the trailer, move equipment on and off the field, and whatever else the directors may need from us. We assist the band at all performances during the marching season (football games, contests, public performances, etc).

Both women and men of all ages and strength are welcome to join our Panther Band Moving Co. Some things do require strength but a lot of things just require pushing around.

    • Prop Crew

      • Helps bring the artistic vision of the show to life. Directors need help building and maintaining props (stages, backdrops, floors, etc.) to be used during the performances.

    • Pit Crew

      • Moves Pit Percussion equipment and podiums on and off the field during performances.

  • Our fundraising coordinator has a very important job and has been hard at work on finding ways to bring in financial support for our band.

She is looking for parents interested in helping in a variety of ways.

    • General committee members needed to help in any way you can.

    • Product distribution throughout the year.

    • Help find sponsors to support the band.

    • Grant Proposal Writing

    • Individual fundraiser assistance during the year (Christmas Dinner and Raffle, Spring Mulch, etc.)

  • Our uniform crew does an amazing job outfitting all the students with uniforms. Uniform Committee does fittings, hanging, restocking, making alterations, and WASHING.

If you have any sewing skills or are just willing to help, then they would be most grateful for any help you can spare. We need lots of people and sewing is not necessary for most of our jobs. This is a fairly flexible job time-wise.

This is a great volunteer opportunity if you pick up your students, as you get to help out while you would be waiting for your student anyway. It’s also a fun way to get to know your students fellow band members!

  • We would really love to have a team of photographers/videographers on the field for great close-ups as well higher up for an overview.

If you love taking photos and/or videos reach out - we need you!

  • At many band events, the kids will be fed (multiple times a day on the long contest days). This means we need adult volunteers to help pick food up and get it back to our location.

It's a super easy job, but VERY important. Our Snack Crew keeps the busses stocked with snacks for our ride home.
