Weekly Announcements - Week of 12.8.2025

Panther Band & Guard Family,

We're looking forward to a fantastic final two weeks with everyone before we go on (another) much deserved break! These next two weeks have plenty going on, so please read so everyone is informed and prepared.

This week, the combined Wind Symphony/Symphonic Band rehearsal on Tuesday has been canceled. (This has been updated on the band calendar.)

On Tuesday, the Wind Ensemble will be having a rehearsal instead, as it is our only opportunity to put our entire percussion section together before our Winter Concert on Dec. 16.

This Saturday, we are marching/performing in the Liberty Hill Christmas Parade. The itinerary has been posted on ParentSquare/the band website and is also linked in the Weekly Announcements.

Students are able to decorate their instruments, wear festive, holiday-themed accessories, and also wear anything that will keep them warm (jackets, scarves, etc.) for this performance. This itinerary has also been posted on ParentSquare/the band website and is also linked in the Weekly Announcements.

On Monday, December 15, the Band & Guard are being recognized by the LHISD Board of Trustees for advancing to the State Marching Band Contest. Students should be outside the LHISD Gym Annex at 5:45 PM and we will be recognized shortly after that.

Our attire for recognition this year is business casual - this is a change from the past two years where we have worn band jerseys. We will NOT be wearing jerseys this year, so please plan ahead.

Parents, you are welcome to attend this recognition, especially since this part of the meeting will NOT be live-streamed.

Finally, we have our Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 16. This itinerary has been posted on ParentSquare/the band website and is also linked in the Weekly Announcements.

Students are able to wear holiday-themed colors and attire. Any 'ugly Christmas sweaters' need to be approved by directors prior to the concert. Students can also wear holiday-themed headwear, provided it does not move on its own or make any sound. Students are also allowed to decorate their instruments (like the Christmas Parade), provided it does not interfere with their ability to perform.

It's been a great fall semester and we're looking forward to finishing strong! Go Panthers!
