Good evening and Happy New Year! We hope you all had a restful holiday and a wonderful new year. We could not be more excited to welcome everyone back to campus today and begin our journey into our UIL Concert & Sightreading music!
Today in classes we took sectional conflicts from students so we can build our sectional schedules. Students have until the end of day on Thursday to submit their conflicts so the directors can create sectional schedules. Sectionals will begin next week, the week of January 12-16. As soon as we have finalized our sectional calendars (we are aiming for Friday), we will add them to the band calendar (and the Weekly Announcements).
Second, we just realized today that we did not have Mega Band on our calendar. We just added it for Feb. 7 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. We work very hard to try and put all events on the calendar with as much lead time as possible so families can work around them and on this one, we missed the mark.
If you are available, we need your attendance! We are changing some things up with Mega Band this year to provide our 8th Grade band students an even more exciting experience, but a big part of that experience if having you there. If you have an unavoidable conflict, please fill out an Absence Request Form. Moving forward, we'll continue to make sure there are no gaps in our systems that allow something as important as Mega Band to not be added.
