Weekly Announcements - Week of 8.24.2026

Panther Band & Guard Family,

Thank you so much for your support with our first Community Pep Rally. We had a great turnout and really enjoyed getting to close our portion of the pep rally with our friends in the Legacy Ranch HS Band.

This week is our first football game! We will be at home (Panther Stadium) and will be wearing our Summer Uniform. Our itinerary (posted soon this week) will specify everything you need to have with you for the game/inspection. Not only is game on a Thursday, it is also Senior Night! Seniors (and those escorting them), please be on the lookout for some more information about where and when to line up for pre-game.

Some All-State masterclasses begin this week! All-State masterclasses are required for students in the Wind Ensemble, but any students interested in learning the All-State music are invited to attend.

Private lesson enrollment is open! Enrolling your student in private lessons is one of the best things you can do for them - the art of learning to commit and work towards excellence extends far beyond learning to play an instrument. Last year, 61% of our musicians were enrolled in private lessons (down from 62% the year prior) and we would love to see that number grow.

Our Band Boosters have generously set aside $5,000 to assist with the cost of private lessons for families and make them accessible for as many people as are interested. Please re-enroll for lessons using the electronic form on the band website even if you were previously taking lessons and already have a scheduled time with your private teacher. This helps us keep good data on lesson enrollment year-over-year.

As I receive them from the lesson teachers, I will be updating the Private Lesson Faculty page. New this year: we will be adding private lesson teacher rates on the faculty page, so everyone is completely aware of the 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute rate.

Enroll in lessons on the band website here.

Our 2026-2027 Band & Guard Handbook is uploaded to the band website. We went over the Handbook at length with the class periods on the first day of school and encourage all families to read it in its entirety. We have worked very hard to clarify and codify many policies, including attendance, conduct, program commitment, preparation, uniform dress code, etc.

Both the Handbook and the Handbook Signature Page (which needs to be signed by both a parent and student) can be found on the band website under the Parents menu (Parents > Forms).

The Handbook can be accessed here and the Handbook Signature Page can be accessed here.

Attendance Key:

Please continue to pre-hydrate and rest in preparation of tomorrow's rehearsal. We will continue monitoring the WBGT all day to make the best (and safest) decisions for our rehearsals this week.

Go Panthers!
